Townsville knocks back nudist beach bid
Nudists in north Queensland are disappointed after Townsville City Council rejected calls for a "clothing optional" beach. Eric Brown, 81, last month wrote a letter to mayor Les Tyrell on behalf of fellow local nudists asking him to consider establishing a beach for their purposes. However, Mr Tyrell said the request had been rejected because the council had more important things to worry about. [source: thedaily.com.au]
USA. Judge OKs Nudity at San Onofre’s Trail 6
The judge has spoken: Beachgoers at San Onofre’s State Beach Trail 6 can leave the bathing suit in the beach bag. The ruling from Judge Sheila Fell of the Orange County Superior Court came in at the end of the day Wednesday, August 27. In June, the California State Parks started warning beachgoers at Trail 6 at San Onofre State Beach—an unofficial nude beach—that clothing would soon be required. The plan was to ban nude sunbathing after Labor Day, but the Naturist Action Committee and the Friends of San Onofre State Beach filed a lawsuit against the California State Parks in July and put a hold on that action plan. Canada. Our home and naked land
The True North may be even more "free" than our national anthem implies, if a new list of the world's best clothing-optional beaches is any indication. According to the countdown, commissioned by USA Today and compiled by the American Association for Nude Recreation, Canada is one of the Top 10 greatest places to "leave the swimsuit at home." Vancouver's Wreck Beach, this country's first and largest legal clothing-optional beach, won Canada a spot on the list alongside such famed locales as France's Cap d'Agde, also known as "the naked city". Police are powerless to tackle the nudists
Police have admitted they are powerless to stop nudists taking over family beaches. Officers say they can't take any action against people who strip off at the seaside even if they get complaints. The admission comes after chalet owners in Hill Head, near Fareham, demanded that police and Fareham Borough Council do something about nudists bathing on the western end of the beach. The law on public nudity changed five years ago – and simple nudity such as nude sunbathing, is no longer illegal. [Source: The News]
Jennifer Love Hewitt: I Wish I Stayed Nude From Age 12-28
¿How has your relationship with your body changed over the years? "I so wish I had listened to my mom and grandma when I was 18 and would complain about some little tiny bump or feeling bloated. They’d say, “Sweetheart, appreciate it for all it’s worth because it all changes when you get into your 30s.” I used to scoff and say, “No, I feel fat today!” Now the joke’s on me. I wish I had been nude from the time I was 12 until I was 28. I looked great! I want to tell all young girls to walk around in bikinis all summer—and enjoy it. I want to tell them to never, ever feel bad about anything, because there will be that one day in your 20s when you’ll eat a hamburger and actually see the hamburger on the side of your leg. Initially it’s shocking, and you think, Whoa, I have to actually think about what I eat and work out double the amount I did before. Then you go, Well, now my body gets to make children, which is so cool. And I suddenly don’t look like a little girl anymore. I look like a woman. How exciting is that? You start to find value in other things", actress tells. [Source: Health magazine]
